about

Melbourne based, noise infused beat crunchers Anon Speak & Ordeal bring together their similarly caustic sound scrapes for the brand new music label and zine series - collide.scope.

Slipping through the nether regions of obscurity,
Anon Speak formed in late 2008 with the intention of pushing the proverbial boundaries unbeknownst to local
hip-hop musicians. A year later and the duo released
their debut LP ‘Conventional Emporium’; an open minded yet safe alternative to the jaded genre. The album was commended by Triple J Hip-Hop show host Hau Latukefu as well as securing high rotation through FBI Radio [NSW] & RTR FM [WA].

Fast forward 3 years, countless hours of exploratory production techniques, as well as the soon-to-be-released sophomore follow-up, & Anon Speak have re-emerged with a different approach and an undeniably heavier delivery.

Offering a much more abrasive sound palette, Ordeal
carved his niche in the Melbourne noise community
through the founding of net label Now…This!
Specialising in small run, hand dubbed cassettes and
CD-R’s, ordeal has collaborated with various worldwide harsh noise musicians yet with a surprising infatuation
for hip-hop, first collaborated with Anon Speak on the small EP release ‘a dash of dirt’.

collide.scope’s shared enthusiasm and like minded penchant for jarring rhythms reunite the unlikely collaborative efforts of Anon Speak & Ordeal, offering a welcome introduction to the zine series!
